Q Will the tutor come to our home?
A Yes. The tutor will come to your home. If it is more convenient, you can meet at a coffee shop, library or office depending on your preference.
Q What times and days are the tutors available?
A It depends on the individual but tutors are usually free after 4 or 5 p.m. during the week and have flexible weekends.
Q How do I schedule tutoring?
A You can either call us at 1 (888) 303-8088 or complete our online request form for more information. We will match you with the best tutor available and have them call you within 24 hours to schedule an appointment.
Q What does it cost?
A We offer tutoring by the hour as well as pre-paid packages at a discounted rate. Please call 1 (888) 303-8088 or complete our online request form for current pricing. There are no long-term commitments required. Sessions can be cancelled at no charge if notice is given 24 hours in advance. We are accredited members of the Better Business Bureau and guarantee your satisfaction or your first session is free.
Q Do your tutors have experience working with learning disabilities (ADD, ADHD, etc.)?
A Yes. Most of our tutors have experience working with students that have ADD or ADHD. Some tutors may have more advanced training for conditions such as Asperger's or Dyslexia. A customer service representative can provide more information regarding a specific tutor's background.
Q How is your program different from a learning center?
A

When students enroll at a center, they are first given a multiple choice test. For each incorrect answer, the student will repeat the question until they get it right using a worksheet. This method relies on repetition and memorization and is a slow process. 3 students work with 1 teacher for 50 minute sessions.

We believe that students who learn this way are in the minority. With a 1 to 1 student/teacher ratio, we are able to help students keep pace with current assignments and tests and correspond directly with teachers when necessary.

Q How do you find your tutors?
A We use a variety of sources but all of our tutors must meet the same requirements: 3 or more years of teaching or tutoring experience, a college degree, and a 50 state background check. Many of our tutors are credentialed teachers, some are working professionals, but everyone has a passion for education. More than 60% of our workforce have graduate degrees.
Q How often will the tutor need to come?
A It depends on the student and the material being covered. The average session is 1-2 hours long and the tutor will usually come 1-2 days per week (mostly based on attention span). Generally K-8th grade sessions will run for 1 hour and 9th grade or older will be longer, usually 1-2 hours each. Our tutor will work with you for as long or as often as can be accommodated. You can request a different tutor or cancel at any time if you are not seeing positive results.
Q How soon can we get started?
A After you contact us with your information by calling 1 (888) 303-8088 or completing our online request form, we can have a tutor call you within 24 hours to schedule your first appointment.
Q What if it is not a good “fit” with the tutor?
A All of our tutors are qualified regarding the subject material but occasionally their personality or schedule might conflict with a student. Please let us know and we will try to find a replacement tutor to work with you.
Q Do you provide an initial assessment?
A Yes. Your tutor will conduct an informal assessment during the first meeting. They will set goals, contact teachers if necessary, and setup a regular schedule for tutoring. We may also determine that additional tutors are needed to help with other subjects. We do not offer a formal "diagnostic" test as we work with current assignments and do not teach a separate curriculum.
Q Do you have a cancellation policy?
A Yes. You are required to provide your tutor with at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel a scheduled meeting otherwise you will be charged for 1 hour of tutoring at the regular (non-discounted) rate.
