More About Our In-Home Tutors

“Our mission at Stepping Stone Tutors is to help students to succeed while endeavoring to not only help them pass a subject or test in a comfortable and positive environment, but also to teach valuable study skills and a love for learning that will last a lifetime.”

Stepping Stone Tutors, based in Bend, Oregon, was founded in 2004. We offer in-home tutoring for Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, Oregon, Texas, and Washington - see our locations or search our database of local tutors (BETA). We utilize a careful screening process that ensures our tutors are experts in their content area(s), come prepared, are on time, and are a good fit to work with any student regardless of age or learning style.
Our in-home tutors have at least 3 years of teaching or tutoring experience, a bachelor's degree in a related field, and have passed a 50 state criminal background check. The majority of our tutors have a graduate degree and/or teaching credentials.
When you are ready to get started, we can have a tutor schedule a time to meet at your home, library or other location depending on your preference. Most tutors are available during the evening and on weekends. Read our FAQs for more information.
At no additional charge, our tutors will perform a basic assessment which includes corresponding with the current teacher(s) to customize a program for each student. We provide bi-monthly reports so you can chart student progress and accept all major credit cards.
